Our offices are located in Hemel Hempstead on a remote farm and therefore you will need access to a car to reach our place of work where your role will be based.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Founded by Tom Pellereau and Lord Sugar in 2011 the company is a market leader in innovative consumer products. STYLIDEAS has launched a range of revolutionary products in the STYLFILE Nailcare range and the STYLPRO Beauty range which are now on sale is various major retailers on the high street and on-line in the UK and countries all over the world.

STYLIDEAS is looking to rapidly launch new inventions in new areas and is searching for highly talented, highly motivated innovators to develop cutting edge new products.

Products include: Nail Files, Makeup Brush Cleaners, Beauty Fridges, Light Up Travel Mirror, Reusable Makeup Pads, Vegan Makeup Cleanser, Facial Steamer.  

Key Responsibilities:

The role of Graphic Design Placement Student will consist of working closely with CEO Tom Pellereau and the marketing team in the development of concepts into packaging, marketing material & web-based graphics. This will include but will not be limited to; packaging design and updates, instruction booklet design, retailer and in-house marketing assets, imagery assets, social media posts, problem solving and coordinating with the STYLIDEAS team.

 

Essential skills:

  • Idea Generation: Be able to envisage, develop and contribute new and innovative ideas within the marketing team to enhance our marketing and social media presence. Help to keep the website looking fresh and up-to date with web banners and imagery.
  • Packaging Design: Creation of professional packaging for our existing and new products. Be able to work efficiently and effectively to deadlines with different members of the STYLIDEAS team.
  • Adobe Suite: Strong understanding of the functions within Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are desired. Premier Pro and other programmes would be beneficial. Being able to organise work and files is ideal. STYLIDEAS uses Adobe Suite for the majority of assets and designs created.
  • Social Media; Assist the marketing team in the creation of high-quality visual content and concepts. Create engaging and on-brand assets that can be shared across our varying social platforms.
  • HTML understanding: Not essential but definitely a bonus to help make structural changes to the website design and layout
  • Problem solving; Can use initiative and find new ways to solve design problems when working with specific imagery or size requests in-house or for retailers.
  • Other duties: Assisting the STYLIDEAS team with various projects at various stages of progress depending on what is the most necessary for the business. Helping the team with general administrative duties as required.

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • Expecting a 2:1 or 1st in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, Product Design Engineering or similar.
  • Experienced Adobe Suite user (Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Excellent hand drawing and illustration abilities.
  • Some HTML understanding

This will include but will not be limited to; CAD 3D model creation, prototyping, 3D printing, market research and analysis, problem solving, palletisation, and coordinating with the STYLIDEAS team.

 

Essential skills:

  • Prototyping: Creating both simple and detailed prototypes, prototypes may be as simple as a card packaging or as complex as a functioning and working product from an idea that has never been made before. The ability to think laterally, to solve problems to source existing products or components to create visual or working prototypes of ideas.
  • CAD 3D: Creation of 3D CAD models to produce prototypes of finished components or products. STYLIDEAS uses Autodesk Fusion 360, which is very similar to other CAD software’s.
  • 3D Printing; Of designed products for testing to demonstrate functionality and following an iterative design process to be able to critically evaluate design changes.
  • Market research and analysis; Researching and studying what products already exist in the marketplace.
  • Problem solving; Find new ways to solve consumer, production and technical problems and challenges.
  • Other duties: Assisting the STYLIDEAS team with various projects at various stages of progress depending what is the most necessary for the business. Helping the team with general administrative duties as required.

 

ABOUT YOU:

    • Expecting a 2:1 or 1st in Industrial Design, Product Design, Product Design Engineering or similar.
    • Experienced CAD user (Solid Works, Fusion 360)
    • Have experience of rendering (Keyshot or similar)
    • Excellent hand drawing abilities.
    • Demonstrated prototyping abilities
